“what are we doing?” keisuke rubbed his temple slowly. His mother hushed him… he heard a small gentle voice coming from the back. Arching a brow he looked at his mother “kuro?” with a small nod as his answer he sighed… crossing his arms lethargically “so?” he shrugged slightly.
“tsk” he walked out to the balcony rubbing his head. if you hit me that hard again I won’t get good grades for you. With a sigh he sat next to kuro.
Kuro stopped her singing when she heard footsteps, the wind carrying the familiar scent of her brother.

‘Kei-nii…’ she thought, when he sat down, her eyes widened with realization. Had he heard her singing…? The thought brought a faint blush to her cheeks.
“Ah, kei-nii.. I thought you were sleeping.. or something..” she murmured sheepishly.
“ha sleeping. Not anymore” he hung his legs over the balcony like hers. well I was until the demon decided to wake me up. Noticing the slight blush in her cheeks he decided not to mention the singing. Lying down he stared up at her “where’s neko-san?” she usually had the stuff cat with her.
“Ah!”
At the mention of neko-san, kuro’s eyes lit with glee. “Neko-san is here.” She scooted towards the beam where said stuffed kat had been perched.
“It’s reeaaally warm out today and now neko-san is warm too.”

She hugged neko-san and sighed happily, feeling the soft plushie’s warmth against her cooler skin. The girl inched back towards her brother, leaning on his side in a carefree manner. She lifted her chin to gaze at him with curious eyes.
“Ne, kei-nii, why do you stay in your room so much…? Oka-chan says your studying.. for what?”

“ yume no tsubomi hiraku mabushii sora wo aogi
mune ippai hirogaru yasashii kaori
(The dream bud flourishes and looks up at the bright sky
filling our hearts with a tender fragrance.)
kikoeruwa koi no RIZUMU
kisetsu koe ai ni kite ne
(I can hear the rhythm of love,
it has transcended the seasons and came to see me.)
“daisuki da yo” sasayaitara
sekaichuu ni kikoechau kana
hazukashikute utsumuiteta
watashi no te wo tori hashiridasu
(If I whisper “I love you”,
will the whole world hear it?
I lowered my head in embarrassment,
but you took my hand and ran!)”

Kuro sang the song softly, kicking her feet in the air as she sat on the edge of her houses backyard. Her voice still retaining the child-like innocence with a note of clarity and shy confidence. She had heard the sound of a violin and oddly enough the words seemed to flow out of her like a river. She was no older then seven and had decided to sit and gaze at her mother’s garden. This morning she had donned a simple green dress that stopped at her knees with pale flowers and blue butterflies decorating her skirt. It was nice out and she enjoyed looking at her mothers garden, sometimes running about barefoot, much like she did earlier.Though her brother would probably scold her again if she came inside with dirt covered feet. She shrugged off the thought, glancing at her bare feet that weren’t too dirty. Kuro would just grab a napkin later to wipe her feet. She knew her brother was probably resting or studying upstairs and her other brother was out. Mother didn’t arrive home till later on, so she sat and sang away her boredom, unaware of any prying eyes or listening ears.
She was unaware of that her mother had arrived and was quietly gathering her siblings.

“we do have them kuro you know where they are” patting her head again “then stop eating ice cream and cold things a week before it happens” this is weird… “it should lessen the pain” holding back a smirk he covered his mouth it’s not like he found this situations hilarious it was just so awkward…
“…but I can’t help my cravings…” she muttered with a pout. “And I…can’t move…” she added grimly.

“…This sucks..”
“you’ll be fine” patting her head again… sighing he stood up again heading towards the kitchen getting the pain killers and a glass of warm water. “Here.” placing in on the coffee table “well you should stop they shouldn’t hurt this bad”
((is mun doing alright?))
After drinking the pain killers, she laid herself comfortably on the sofa. She made a face at her brother when he said the pain couldn’t have been so bad. “Kei-ni…” she deadpanned. “It’s like needles piercing your thighs, lower back, and internal organs. Plus the pain, you also feel fat and nauseous. It’s terrible and during times like this I’d wish I wasn’t born a girl..”

“Stupid period…” she grumbled, hugging her pillow. She let her brother sit down again, moving her legs before crossing them over his lap. It was something she often did to him whenever they watched tv together. “I’m apologizing now in case I get moody and snappy later…”
(( Monthly visitor, but after a shower, I feel much better. ^^ thanks~))
“don’t blame being a female” as he sat back. “As I said again cold foods make the pain even greater just stay away from them a few days before” he stared at the feet on his lap. “moody and snappy? weren’t you that already?” asking sarcastically
((I noticed but did you use the heat pack? it works really well also again just listen to sannan he’s actually right))
Kuro stuck her tongue out at her brother, cuddling against the pillow as they watched the movie on the television.

(( ;A; I don’t have any here, but I already took some pain killers. :3 thank you tho~ ))

I’m home
sannan twitched at her voice…”ah thank you” he hung his jacket up put his shoes away and went to the living room. Switching on the television to cut through the awkward silence. Watching her busy herself in the kitchen he went out to the balcony. Lighting a cig he puffed from it slowly
As kuro prepared the table, she noted her brother at the balcony. Scowling, she put one hand on her hip.
“Aniki! You better not be smoking..” She eyed her older brother with a disapproved look.

glancing back lazily as he was called. Sighing he put out the cigarette. “sorry” he pat her head. Sitting down he looked frustrated… damn hand he tried picking up the chopsticks in his right hand not getting anywhere, he only stared at the food for a moment. Glancing back at kuro “well sit”
Kuro gave him a weak smile as she sat in her own seat. “I made soup, so it should be easier to eat.” Taking a bite of her meal, she swallowed then glanced up at her brother.

“So did you visit an actual clinic for your hand?”

aftermath
Feeling groggy from the pain medication he stubbed the cigarette out stuffing it back into the packet to throw away later. He tucked the pack away in his pocket. Sighingkuro… I really can’t do anything for her.chuckling sadly he sat on the couch fingering an unlit cigarette.I’ve underestimated her again. She’s working so well yet I can’t believe it.Feeling drowsy his eye’s closed slowly, leaning back he lied on the couch. With his unhurt arm covering his eye’s his hurt hand resting on his chest, he drifted into a medicated sleep.
“Baka aniki!” Kuro? sannan tried moving to sit up. Unable to move he watched kuro examining his hand.
“Baka…baka…baka…..” sannan moved his hand away from hers closing his eye’s from the pain running up his arm. Continuing he moved his hand to her face swiping her cheek gently smiling kuro before the medication hit again. Drowsy he fell asleep with his hand half bandaged
She jolted when his hand gently brushed a tear from her face, his smile soft and even relieved. She watched as he drifted to sleep, no doubt from some pain-killer’s he took for his injured hand. As she finished securing the bandages around his hand, she rested it gently over his stomach. Standing up, she gazed at her brother for a moment, looks like he’d be sleeping on the sofa tonight.
She walked to the pantry, fetching a blanket, then laying it over him. She leaned over and plucked off his glasses, setting them down on the table next to the sofa.

“No fair kei-ni..” she mumbled almost childishly as she leaned over to brush a light kiss on his forehead. “baka…”
aftermath
testing his patience that one comment he couldn’t hold it in
“What has my moving here made you sacrifice? Bachelor record?”
grabbing her arm before she left, slamming it against the wall
“Kurohime,What have I sacrificed? I use to work at a lab. I was the guest speaker at university lectures, I supervised ongoing medical experiments. My pay was better and I had my own schedule, I worked when I wanted to and I didn’t need to deal with situations like this” his grip tightened at each point. “without that job we wouldn’t be living in such a nice house”
“Now I work 5-6 days a week as a school nurse. I sit in the infirmary dealing with lazy assed students who want to ditch class and sleep. I patch up small injuries from P.E. classes or trips down the stairs, I deal with a VP that is practically breathing down my back. You think I haven’t sacrificed enough for you, just so you can go flaunting yourself at a bar” breathing in he shook his head
Releasing his grip on her stepping back I don’t want you hurt. I don’t want to see you cry. Clenching his fists and squeezing his eyes shut he heard the door slam unable to take it anymore, his fist made contact with the wall. Feeling a crunch he grimaced at the pain. With his fist still clenched by his side he made his way to the balcony. Lighting a cigarette he stared at it,I need this not smoking for years the nicotine filled his lungs the old sensation, that calming effect.
Calming down he started noticing his useless hand still clenched in a fist blood dripping down from the knuckles he slowly released his fist he chuckled sadly what have I done?

Kuro walked past the gates of the house, fury coursing through her veins. The nerve of him. The nerve. How dare he accuse her and blame her for his work predicament. He could have stayed there. Could have worked in the stupid college giving stupid lectures. It wasn’t her fault that he chose to work in the school with most of his friends and colleagues. She wiped away a tear that slipped out from the corner of her eye with a stubborn hand.

No, she wasn’t going to cry. She was too angry to cry. And he called what she did flaunting? Lisa owned a respectable work place, she had her own home on the floor above it where she had her two kids. She gave kuro an opportunity to sing on that stage and such in hopes that maybe an agent would catch wind of her. Singing away on that small stage often was what made her day. Since it was the only time she could just be herself on the stage. Express herself. Show the world that there’s more to her then some teenager. So much more.
Somehow she wound up infront of the door to lisa’s cafe. She opened the door quietly, knowing it would be mostly full of solemn and workers that want some caffeine instead of a drink. Lisa looked up at her after serving someone an espresso. “Cher’, what brings you here?”
Kuro sighed, walking with the older woman to the counter by the register.
“A bad day and a fight with my brother…” she muttered, frowning still.
Lisa gazed at her calmly, handing her a mochacinno as she chuckled.
“Well then dear, if your having a bad enough day, you know were to look.” She nudged her chin to the stage, where a grand piano stood proud. It was lisa’s husbands piano. The cafe/bar a place the too created together, and lisa still hold’s it down well enough despite her husbands passing.
“If not, you can always check on the kids. I’m sure they’d love to see you.” She pointed at the door that was behind the bar, beyond it a hallway that lead to three doors. One for the office, another for the storage, and the last lead to some stairs that wound up to her home upstairs.
Taking a sip of the mocha for a moment, kuro hesitated, then offered lisa a weak smile. “I haven’t seen the twins in a while, I guess I’ll play with them a bit before I go up..”

Lisa nodded, handing her a key to unlock the door. “Those two should probably be watching t.v. so it should surprise them.”
Kuro nodded, then walked past the door to see the twins she often babysitted.
aftermath
Opening the door he leaned on the frame. Watching kuro shut down her book. Smiling slightly he couldn’t help but add “Guess who’s your new sister?” fiddling with the chain on her neck unable to look at her. Dropping the chain he crossed his arms “back to more important issues. You promised mother that you would focus on studies coming here right?” watching her squirm a bit “I heard through a few resources that you got yourself a boyfriend, were you planning on telling me at all?”she use to tell me everything.Shutting his eye’s for a bit waiting for her response.

“Wha-? You proposed! Yay!” Kuro cheered, clapping her hands together gleefully. “Kimi-nee’s my new sister~”

She then froze and paled when he got more solemn and serious with her. Hearing him talk about her boyfriend and how he found out from some reliable sources.
‘kimi-nee…why….’ the teen sighed mentally. She loved her sister-in-law, but the slip up really had her in the dog house now.

Then looked back at her brother, a crossing her arms as she gazed at him.
“I didn’t want to tell you while you were focusing on kimi-nee.” she sighed, knowing he’d have been much more distracted otherwise. “And I was going to tell you..” When she felt he’d be able to handle it. “And of course I’m focusing on my studies. I’m still an honor student aren’t I?”

“Have some faith in me kei-ni. I’m not a child anymore..”
“we’ll see about that, so who is he.” getting to the point he wanted to know who this person was. Knowing kuro, he had to be someone worth seeing. “child? your 17 kuro. You don’t have a job you don’t support a family. When you understand the responsibilities I will treat you like an adult” watching as she got worked up “you live here keep your promises and I might keep mine” sannan was not forced to have kuro to live with him. He chose to have her here, if he couldn’t handle it he could have her sent back.
Kuro scowled at him when he did the “bills and responsibility talk” on her.
“For your information, when I first moved here. It was because of the dance school. And you should know very well that I never screw around with my dancing. Ever aniki.” And that was something he’d have to agree with her. Since it was true, the moment she found her passion she’d bust her butt training and studying.
“I may be 17 of age, but I have my responsibilities as a prima. And you know I have yet to let down both my partner and my teacher and classmates. I’m balancing my studies and dance well enough. Don’t give me that ‘I don’t understand responsibilities’ crap. That’s only an excuse to try scolding me.”
Her temper flared for a moment, but she reigned it down, keeping her voice leveled. As a prima, she was the first to enter practice and last to leave. She’d spend hours exercising to make sure she understood the routine perfectly, down from the expressions she needed to show to the twitch of her finger. And she had the bruises to prove it. But she’d taken the pain well, making sure to never dissapoint her viewers.
“You think it’s easy making a good performance. And by the way, remember kimi-nee’s friend? The one who owns a bar and local cafe? She lets me babysit when I have the time and sing on stage. She pays me well, which is why I don’t ask you for an allowance. Being both a student, dancer, and a free-lance performer, since I can’t get an offical job while being in school, it a lot to juggle.”
She then crossed her arms over her chest, her calm demeanor still in check. She wasn’t about to lose this round. Now when he was being so unfair.
“Last I checked, I haven’t broken any promises. So don’t you think I’m aware of what being responsible is? And that the idea of possibly being that interested in someone means something. Considering how serious I normally am?”
Which was also true. Considering he’s her favorite among her family, he should know damn well that it would take a lot for her to be interested.
“It’s like how your miraculously interested enough into kimi-nee to marry her. Since I know you tend to find most girls a waste of time. So kimi-nee is very special. There’s always gonna be someone out there. As for when you meet them, that, is the mystery.”
