So I assume at least some of you have seen this. I can’t help but make a theory. If this picture is legitimate (I don’t know if it isn’t though it seems to be a screencap of someone’s viewer) then I think Amon could be Aang’s son Bumi. Firstly because being raised by Aang would mean growing up as an air nomad. Bumi, as Amon, makes up the story of having his face taken as a way to hide these tattoos. Second, Amon seems to move in a bagua zhang sort of way like airbenders do. It’s acceptable to assume that Amon/Bumi picked up the movements from his father. Third, if any character is likely to receive a talent such as removing someone’s bending, it would be the child of the Avatar that could do it. Finally, I would say that instead of Amon’s whole origin and equality garbage that his motivation could be that he was the non-bending child of the three and maybe was picked on a bit.
I know it seems unlikely. I think it’s a fun way to bring the characters together and although being picked on is slightly worse motivation to become a terrorist I think it makes more sense than the inequality nonsense Amon keeps spouting. Also, an air nomad would make a fun villain for Book 1: Air.
