Kuro smiled at the man’s thoughtfulness when he draped his jacket on to her shoulders. It was…strange for her to be so aware of another person. She even noticed when they walked together, how he would tilt the umbrella more to her side. It was sweet of him, but the girl didn’t want him to get too wet either. She linked her arm around his, bringing herself a bit closer as they walked silently. He didn’t seem to mind. She pondered over how it all lead to this point. What had started as a simple gig for the night ended up more like a nightly rendezvous. The thought made her blush a bit. That couldn’t be right. It would only be considered that if they were lovers or something..
‘Ok..my thoughts are getting me no-where…’ she groaned internally, her brow twitching when she recalled who interrupted her first kiss. ‘When I see that baka-aniki of mine, I’m gonna….kick him. Reeaaaalllyyy hard.’ she grumbled, already imagining herself doing it. If he asked why, she’d just shrug and say ‘you had it coming.’ She barely noticed that they were at her house, her feet guiding her to it’s usual routine. At least, until sanosuke brought her out of her trance.
“From point A to point B, right?”
“Ah.. yeah.” She mumbled, reaching for her keys to unlock the door. She quickly shut off the alarming system before it could ring, entering the password. His next question made her pause, just as she opened the door.
“You said there’s nobody home?”
Oh god.. She prayed her brother wasn’t home yet. Otherwise she’d be dead and Sanosuke would be beyond dead. She knew her brother was protective… he’d probably get away with killing a grown man and a teenager. Shit..
Before answering his question, she peeked inside, forgetting her previous worries. She noted how everything was off, the way she left it. Since it was still raining, she let sanosuke in for a moment, letting him dry off the umbrella. She slipped off her heels quietly, looking back, she placed a finger over her lips, signalling him to stay quiet. As she turned the corner from the kitched, her phone buzzed, making her jump.
“Eek!.” She squealed, snapping her phone out of her pocked in record time. The message on her phone lit up the dark hall.
<Nevermind. Sleep well.> -aniki.
“I’m going to kill him..” she muttered, walking back to sanosuke who was probably confused. She smiled at him weakly, tugging a curl from her ponytail.
“Sorry about that. I was expecting my brother, but it seems that he changed his mind.” She sighed a bit, turning to the kitchen to flick the light on. “One day, I will be an only child.”
Sano stepped inside her apartment, staying in the foyer. He waited to remove his shoes until she gave him the okay, leaving the umbrella in the basket near the door. “So you just live with your brother or what?” he asked as he followed her into the kitchen. “In any case, I’ll stay until someone gets home, I guess.”
He went into the living room area and sat down, patting the spot next to him. “We can talk to pass the time.” He wasn’t sure if what happened back at his place was a good thing or not, but she was clearly aggravated that her brother had interrupted. He wouldn’t initiate anything further, though, hoping they could put it behind them.
Kuro sighed, sitting down at the spot he patted for her. In all honesty, she didn’t want him to leave, but she had a feeling he wouldn’t go until someone came home. Knowing her brother, she probably wouldn’t see him until later on in the mid-morning or afternoon. Recalling his previous question, she tilted her head.
“Well, it’s only my brother and me right now. Most of my family lives in edo though.” she paused, wondering how her mother and other brother was doing. Hopefully well, she made a mental note to call them tomorrow.

“Anyway, I’m mostly here for the excellent schools they offer in kyoto.” She tugged a curl from her ponytail, her expression mild as she added dryly. “Well, that and to make sure my brother gets fed properly...” The man can’t survive on coffee and microwave food alone. She leaned her head back resting it on sanosuke’s shoulder, she gazed at him thoughtfully. This entire night was completely different from how she’d plan on ending it. Kuro never would have thought that she’d find herself in the living room of her house with … what was she even suppose to call him? Boyfriend? When she barely knows the man and..and…
‘and you like him.’ said a small voice of common sense. But she was sure that the law wouldn’t approve, though she honestly didn’t care. She was more concerned about how she had no control over all the feelings and cravings she felt for the red-head.
“You know you really don’t need to stay here, sanosuke…”

“It’s not my first time home alone… And aniki won’t be back till maybe the morning or mid-afternoon.” It is summer after all.
