(( ok SSL it is…WARNING: You will have FEELS! ))
Kuro peeked out from the doorframe of her brothers room. The door was already open and she wasn’t entirely sure what was going on. Recently a lot of people had visited their home came dressed in black. She didn’t understand as to why, she tried asking, but they only gave her sad looks and patted her head.
She recognized a few people her brother introduced to her before along with her mother. ‘Mother’ she thought quietly, leaning her head on the door frame. For some reason mother wasn’t around either. She asked the adults why, but they told her she went to some place faraway. Why would mother leave and not give her a goodbye hug?
Pulling out of her thoughts she saw her brother laying down on the bed. She knew he wasn’t asleep since his eyes were open. He kept his gaze locked on the ceiling, but his eyes looked unfocused.
“Kei-ni…?” kuro called gently, walking over to his bed. He didn’t stir at first, not until she was on the bed looking down on him. He looked at her, eyes still somewhat distant, his lips forming a smile she knew wasn’t real.
“Ah, kuro-chan…is something wrong?”
“That.” Kuro stated.
“Eh? I don’t understand kuro-chan…?” His expression changed to one of general confusion. Kuro pointed a finger to his face. She may only be seven, but she wasn’t a fool.
“Kei-ni’s face.”
”..What about my face?”
“It’s in pain and sad. And I don’t know why…” Kuro pouted, not liking the look in his eyes when she said that. They became dark and bitter and sad all in one mix.
“Its hard to explain…” he started, patting her head gently. Almost like he pitied her, which made the girl more upset. “Is it because mommy’s not here and far away?”
“…..” he was quiet, which scared the girl a bit, until he whispered. “yes, kuro-chan. Mother is very far away now…and she won’t be coming back.”
She pouted, feeling her eyes sting a bit. “Why? Doesn’t mommy love us? She always gives me a hug before she leaves. Was kuro a bad girl…? Is mommy mad?”
She suddenly felt her brother’s arms wrap around her in a tight hug, her face pressed into his chest. Unwillingly the tears that stung her eyes began to drip down her cheeks as her brother spoke in a strained voice.
“No..Mother’s not mad. And kuro-chan is a very good girl. She knows that. It’s just… that she can’t come back to us kuro-chan. Mother can never come back to us…”
