Early Morning

sanosuke-harada:

Once Sano was dismissed from his shift on patrol, he put away the light blue haori and the head guard, setting his spear near the door. He wouldn’t need it where he was going. It was only a few hours before sunrise, late night to him. Normally he would be going to sleep soon, but he just had to visit her. Even if she was asleep, seeing her face would be enough.

His steps were a little heavy on the way to her house, kicking up a little dirt. Maybe he should have stuck around to congratulate her earlier? After all, she currently had no knowledge he had even seen her dance, but then again, she hadn’t told him anything about it. Maybe it was something best kept quiet on both ends? He wasn’t sure, so he decided to play it by ear.

Once he had made his way to her home, he stepped around the side like he usually did and sat on her veranda, calling out quietly. With those fox ears of hers, the only way she wouldn’t hear were if she were asleep.

“Kuro-chan,” he called softly, “are you still awake?”

Kuro ears twitched when she heard the sound of a familar voice. ‘Sanosuke…?

She had just finish washing off the make-up of her performance and had donned one of her comfortable night-gowns she had. It was a simple black dress that had a simple design of a chinese dragon embroided on it. She had bought it for the nice silken feel of the fabric. The kitsune still had her hair up and was just about to remove her hair pin when she heard her name being called. She slid her door open, her nose telling her of the familiar scent she’d gotten used to. Already, she felt her cheeks flush a bit as she walked over, leaning against his back to greet him with a hug. She really has missed him, since he’s been so busy with his work, the girl hadn’t seen him for quite a while. “Welcome home.” She murmured, brushing her mouth over his as a chaste kiss.
